In May of 2013 my husband and I were blessed with a beautiful little girl. She is such a blessing to our lives. I have had to make many decisions now as a mother and can without regret say that I am thrilled to embark on the adventure of motherhood. I will no longer be serving clients in the wedding industry. I do truly love helping brides plan their weddings, design flowers and shoot photography. I feel it is more important to be with my daughter and experience the moments in her life that will only happen once, and cherish every second I have with her. As you have found my site, I don’t want to leave you without a list of a few amazing professionals that I would turn to personally for my floral, planning and photography needs. I wish all of you well with your weddings and remember cherish the moment’s, capture them as they all happen so very fast.

Beaver Creek Wedding…….a nice snowy day.

Right at the New Year we “The Photographer & The Florist” had the opportunity to work with Kayla & Todd a fantastic couple from Alabama. The day started out crisp and cold, and periodically all day long periods of dumping snow, the flakes were huge, over sized light an flaky. After the ceremony we had a blast taking photos of the group, couple, and wedding party out in the mall. Kayla braved the snow and the cold to capture some amazing shots. The wedding was held at the Hyatt at Beaver Creek, and what an amazing location for a wedding. The party was small, just close family and a few good friends. It was such a pleasure working with this couple, as their love expanded beyond the room, and filled everyone with their joy. What amazed us the most was how tender, loving, compassionate, and caring the groom was. Kayla you truly have found yourself one of the greatest men out there, a true southern gentleman. You are both blessed by a wonderful family, and fantastic friends. It was an honor getting to spend the day with you, design your flowers, watch your union in marriage, and spend time capturing your memories. Wishing you both the very best life has to offer. Love always, Live well, and most importantly Laugh often.

Lindsay & Jason Aspen Wedding

Lindsay and Jason were married at the Maroon Bells in Aspen Colorado. The Maroon Bells are often photographed, many hike them, others stand at the base and admire their majesty. But on this day, the valley of those spectacular peaks was filled with love, laughter, family and friends. Lindsay and Jason took extra time for their photography as did their family. The group was small but so much fun. The Flowers were provided by A Funky Little Mountain Flower as well. The colors were purple and blue, it was a celebration to be remembered.

We headed to the lake, shoes came off and everyone stepped in.

Entertainment was found while they put their shoes on.

Small Church, Quaint Town, An Intimate Wedding…..Michelle & Matt Were Married.

When we first met with Michelle and Matt, they arrived in our studio to check us out. Michelle had a very clear picture in her mind of her wedding day, and the groom was on the same page with her. They were true partners long before the wedding day A southwestern theme (red chilies, teal and yellow) with a modern elegant twist, a ceremony in an old truly authentic chapel in Marble Colorado, reception at the Redstone Inn, and flowers of gerbera daisy’s, tulips, and most important lily of the valley. Michelle’s bouquet was assembled by 20 of her closest friends, and many family members. They each contributed to the bouquet, as they each added a stem of flowers just moments before she walked down the isle. This bouquet contained so much love and support, what a true gift for a bride. As the ceremony began you felt as if you were walking back in time, the church was filled by music, love, emotion, tears, smiles, and support. Following the ceremony a carriage escorted the couple away for some very private intimate moments together, followed by family photos. Michelle had a few key photographs in mind, and it was our goal to capture what she wanted…Mountains and Aspens….Michelle & Matt, I believe we completed the goal…..see a few samples below. Congratulations….looking forward to friendship, and hearing about the journey you and your new family are about to take. The group photo a must for any wedding!

Rocky Mountain Wildflowers

Celebrating summer with rocky mountain wildflowers is a must. All the recent rain has brought significant amounts of moisture to the area, creating vibrant colors that are just now starting to carpet the mountain floors. Below are just a few of my recent favorites of the flowers, we are looking forward to the next few weeks and the vibrant colors that are sure to be seen.

Spring Flowers

This past spring we had the opportunity to design the flowers for a wedding hosted at Crystal Farms in Redstone, Colorado. The theme colors were pink, green and ivory. As part of the ceremony we decorated and set up a Chuppah. The challenge of this wedding, like many this spring was the weather (rain, rain, and more rain). The ceremony was scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm, the rain let up at 12:30 pm providing us just enough time the get the ceremony location set up. Below you will see the photos of the flowers from the wedding. Simply beautiful, fresh, and elegant.

The bridal bouquet below is one of my favorite. The flowers are hydregenia, peonies, ginestra, green cymbidium orchids, roses, lavender, scented geranium, and amaranths. I also made pomanders for down the isle.

Snowmass Club, Pretty in Pink

The peaks of the mountains were capped with snow, the grass on the valley was green, the arch Scott labored over for days (not to mention the fact that aspen logs can fight a good fight) stood tall at the end of the isle. Jared and Ashley were married at the Snowmass Club, in Snowmass Village, CO. We certainly enjoyed participating in their event. Jared blew my mind. The song Ashley walked down the isle to was played by Jared on his guitar. How romantic is that….. The best part of the ceremony was when they sealed a box with a bottle of wine, and letters to each other. When Ashley finished the final pound of the nail, the two of them looked right at each other and sealed it with a high five. This couple is a team, and I truly believe that they will conquer any obstacle they might be faced with. The ceremony concluded just as the rain started, only to be followed by a beautiful sun set. Our fondest memory of the evening was right at the end. We were cleaning up the vases, and Jared approached us to thank us for the day. We congratulated him, and let him know what a wonderful bride he had, and what a beautiful day it was. He, with a twinkle in his eye said “I am so lucky, she is the most amazing woman”. French Lavender and Lilac – Spring Flowers

Spring flowers are always so much fun to work with. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to design what turned out to be the most fragrant bridal bouquet ever. Included in the piece were dark purple lilac, white peonies, light purple sweet peas, purple freesia and kicked off with purple lavender. Scott and I had the opportunity to assist the day of the wedding, and our bride and groom Alicia and Robert were fantastic. It was fun to work on the flowers with Alicia, she knew exactly what she wanted from day one. The end results……..amazing.

KATIE AND BRIAN ARE AN AMAZING COUPLE. IT WAS A RAINY DAY IN GLENWOOD SPRINGS. THE WEDDING WAS HELD AT SAINT STEPHENS CATHOLIC CHURCH AND THE RECEPTION AT THE HOTEL COLORADO. THE DAY STARTED WITH RAIN AND THEN THE RAINS ENDED. I LOVE IT WHEN IT RAINS A BIT ON THE WEDDING DAY BECAUSE EACH AND EVERY COUPLE IS WORTHY OF IRISH BLESSINGS.
