April Showers…Bring May Flowers

This Easter season was special. My parents own www.willowcreekfloral.com and www.willowcreekcrossings.com in Ridgway, CO. My mother and I tend to get lost in shop talk when we are in the flower shop. I found an Easter bonnet sitting on a chair and quickly grabbed little Mali. She looks like the mad hatter. May all of you take the time to remember your family and loved ones, may you keep them in your heart always. Time is so short and valuable.

Love is in the air. Today I spent some time in the studio with two of my loves. Meet Mali and Panda, two amazing Boston Terriers that I call my girls. I have been wanting to play around with the studio lights and the dogs, and today we played dress up. Happy Valentines Day to all of you. Rocky Mountain Wedding Details

Every once in a while we capture a shot that takes an everyday wedding detail and freezes the moment in time. This image was taken while riding in the front of a carriage on the way to a location shoot with a bride and groom. If find you are at a location where you can take a carriage ride, do. This is perhaps one of the best ways to spend some quite time as a newly married couple following the ceremony.

Studio Session

We set up the studio and conducted our first session a bit ago. The outcome turned out fantastic. It truly was a lot of fun shooting under the lights, and playing with different lighting angles. Photo Booth – Redstone Colorado Wedding

Stopher and Jamie were married in January and spent the last three months traveling in Europe. What an experience, and a great way to celebrate a marriage. On Saturday the 12th of September their family and friends gathered at the Redstone Inn to celebrate their marriage. The day was filled with a group toast, a fantastic kiss, good food, great drink, and a lot of groovy music and dancing. Jamie had asked us a few weeks back if we would have a separate photographer to take candid shots of friends, dressed up in some props she would have available. We presented the photo booth option to her, and she was a bit skeptical, but tursted us. Toward the middle of the night she pulled us aside and said ” I didn’t know what to expect when you said photo booth, but this is fantastic, THANK YOU!”. Below you will find just a few of the images from the booth. We found both young and old taking the opportunity to jump in. and Yes! in the middle of the shots Scott and I joined the fun.

A Mother & Her Daughters!

I simply love what I see every time I look through the lens of my camera. I had the opportunity to spend sometime with an expecting mother and her two daughters. The girls were so much fun. Children have such a unique way of making you smile. At the end of our session, just before the purple suckers came out…..I sat down on the ground to take the final shots of mom, and almost immediately had one little girl on my knee and the other with her hand on my shoulder.. WOW! It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. Thank you for providing me with the opportunity to capture these tiny moments in time. Can’t wait for the new little one to arrive…..

Babies, Babies, Babies.

Black and white and Sepia photos are always a favorite. I spent 6 months some years ago in Japan shooting black and white photos (film of course). There is magic in a black in white photo, they capture the emotion and the overall mood of the moment. Babies however, take the cake. A baby photo in black in white seems to display the pure innocence of the child, emanating the fresh new soul that has entered the world. The softness of the photos show the gentle tenderness of their skin, bright clarity in their eyes and the joy of a smile. You can’t leave mom and dad out, as they play a big role in this equation. They have the key ingredient to the photograph, in simple terms pure unconditional love. Below you will find some priceless images of baby Sadie. A little girl who at one month of age has her father wrapped around her little fingers, and a mother so full of joy and love…… what a blessed little girl.

TRASH THE DRESS COLORADO STYLE

Last Month I had the opportunity to attend a workshop with 50 of the top photographers in Colorado. We all gathered at Russell Gulch Ghost Town outside of Idaho Springs. I met the group after driving the Oh My God road up the mountain , but I did finally make it to the location. This was my first Mile High Photographers event (a group of photographers for photographers) I was trilled to have the opportunity to attend. There were four models and they did a fantastic job, I don’t know how they did it, what stamina. Bottom line, I had a blast getting to shoot, but more importantly I enjoyed learning from the incredible instructors. Photographers are artists that capture real events, emotions and life as it happens at any give time. Wow! What a gift. I thought I would share a few of my many, many images. Please enjoy.
